October is Pastor Appreciation Month! This is our chance as church members to show our joy and gratitude for our servant leaders who work tirelessly for the gospel. Consider how you can use your personal gifts, talents, resources, and words of encouragement to show thanks to Pastor Mike and his family.
Craft & Create Weekend is November 3rd & 4th. Friday 6pm - 10pm and Saturday 9am - 5pm. Ladies can bring their own beverage, snack to share, money for lunch on Saturday, project(s) to work on and supplies (Cutting mats, irons & ironing board provided). Contact Carrie S to reserve a table (or chair). Invite a friend and come when you can, leave when you must!
Save the date for our Thanksgiving Sharing Service, Fellowship Meal and November Business Meeting on Sunday, November 19th.
Many shoeboxes left the Operation Christmas Child display last Sunday. Way to Go! What a great way to bring the Good News about Jesus to the unreached. If you’re unable to fill a shoebox but would like to participate, donations of $10 could be given to Samaritan’s Purse for shipping and project costs for each shoebox. Please notice these items on the table:
Donation envelopes
Sticky Labels to be used for online giving which enable the giver to follow the box
Lists and ideas of what to pack and NOT pack
Remember that Sunday, November 19 is the collection deadline.
The Missions and Outreach Team at HEFC would like to add some fellowship & fun to the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child collection effort. We would like to set a goal of 45 boxes of gifts to be sent from the congregation. When that goal is met, we have some fun in store. On the last day of box collection, November 19, we propose that the elders attend the service in ugly Christmas sweaters. This will serve 2 purposes: a fun way to celebrate our giving and an effective way for all present to know who our elders are. Now, as for the fellowship part, we are proposing that we utilize the upcoming Craft and Create time to come together and decorate the sweaters. Anyone who has old Christmas notions (or small ornaments, ribbon, etc.) is encouraged to bring them THIS Sunday or directly to Craft and Create on 11-3 and 11-4. Anything that can be attached to a sweater is welcome. We plan to get old sweaters from a thrift store but if you have one to contribute instead, please bring it on Sunday (plan to fit an adult man, vests may be best so they are not too hot).
There is a flier available for Fall 2023 Small Groups. Feel free to pick one up and reach out to the contact person for more details if there is a group you would like to join.
