October 22nd Announcements

• October is Pastor Appreciation Month!  This is our chance as church members to show our joy and gratitude for our servant leaders who work tirelessly for the gospel.  Consider how you can use your personal gifts, talents, resources, and words of encouragement to show thanks to Pastor Mike and his family.

• Pastor Mike is unavailable Oct 17-25.  The church office will be closed Tuesday, Oct 24.  Carrie will be in the office her regular hours: Mondays 1-5pm, Wednesdays & Fridays 1-4pm.  Please reach out to an Elder or Deacon(ess) or your small group leader with any urgent needs.

• Join us for a Family Friendly Packing Event on Sunday, October 29th for Food 4 Kidz after the service till about 1:00pm in the Gathering Room!  If you are interested in packing food or helping with snacks for the event, please reach out to Nicole G or the office. 

• The next Craft & Create Weekend will be November 3rd & 4th.  Friday 6pm - 10pm and Saturday 9am - 5pm.  Ladies can bring their own beverage, snack to share, money for lunch on Saturday, project(s) to work on and supplies (Cutting mats, irons & ironing board provided).  Contact Carrie S to reserve a table (or chair).  Invite a friend and come when you can, leave when you must!

• Save the date for our Thanksgiving Service, Fellowship Meal and November Business Meeting on Sunday, November 19th.

• The Lord uses shoebox gifts to bless children around the world and prepare them to hear the Good News of Jesus.  This year marks 30 years since Samaritan’s Purse began collecting shoeboxes.  Please prayerfully consider taking a box or two from the table in the church entry.  There is information about what to pack and NOT pack for Operation Christmas Child.  Filled boxes will be collected at HEFC on November 19.

• There is a flier available for Fall 2023 Small Groups.  Feel free to pick one up and reach out to the contact person for more details if there is a group you would like to join.

• It's time for the annual Common Cup Ministry Coat Collection.  We are collecting new or gently used winter coats of all sizes, snow pants, snow boots, waterproof gloves or mittens.  Bring to the church by October 15th and place in the designated bin.

• Continue to check the "I Have, I Need" message board located in the Worship Center.  Please include your name and contact number, and add a description of what you "Have" to donate, or what you "Need".  This is a free board...no money given, no money received.    

• Are you going to be out of town?  If you miss a Sunday service, there are extra bulletins from the previous two weeks in a folder in the front of the mailbox bin in the Worship Center foyer.  Service live streams, sermon notes and reflection questions as well as announcements are all available on the church website.

• Want to view our HEFC Main Calendar?  Check out our website at www.hutchefree.org under the INFO tab!  This calendar does not include our small groups.  Please check the Small Group flier in the Worship Center and contact a small group leader for specific dates/times/locations/topics.

• Are you planning to go on the HEFC Mission Trip to Kentucky next year?  Dates are June 22-29, 2024.  The first payment is due October 1st.  Total cost is $676/person + travel expenses (hotel + gas).  Not sure yet?  Prayerfully consider joining the team.  It is a week that, for those who have gone, has blessed them as much as they have been able to bless the ministry partners there.  There are no specific skill requirements - our ministry partners will find the perfect place for you to minister in the ways that you are able!  People of all ages can join us (children under 14 should have a parent on the team as well though).  Please contact Ann B for more information on how to join the team or details on how to register.

• Mark you calendars for Sunday September 10th!  We will have our official Small Group Kick-Off, a Congregational Meeting to vote in new HEFC members Ron & Carol P and Doug & Felice Z, as well as a Fellowship Meal!  Sign up on the clipboard in the Worship Center for the potluck!

• A new Women's Fall Bible Study is starting September 14th!  This is a 10 session verse-by-verse study of First Samuel with The Village Church and Bible teacher Jen Wilkin.  The book of 1st Samuel introduces one of the most fascinating stories in all of Scripture, the reign of King David.  Trace the lives of several key characters and explore the themes of king and kingdom, pointing to our divine King, Jesus Christ.  This 10 week study starts Thursday, September 14th.  Two times are available:  Morning: 9:00 - 10:45 am and Evening: 6:30 - 8:15 pm.  Cost is $20.  Please call or text Patti K by September 1st so materials can be ordered.

• The Children's Ministry remodel is nearing completion.  If you are able to help with this project please contact Matt M, Bill H or Bob S.

• We are looking to better understand how well connected our church family is to small groups, bible studies, and opportunities to serve.  Please fill out the HEFC Involvement Survey so that we can connect our church family to one another and meet the needs of our growing community!  Email your copy to us at info@hutchefree.org or fill out a paper copy in the Worship Center by August 23rd.  This will help us prepare for our Involvement Sunday August 27th when we will will highlight our HEFC ministries and volunteer opportunities and encourage small groups!

• Those who have been through the Membership Classes and wish to take the next step to become HEFC members please complete your applications and contact the office to set up a meeting with the elders.  Meetings must take place before August 24th to be ready for the next Congregational Meeting on September 10th.

August 6th 2023 Announcements

• A special benevolence offering is collected on the first Sunday of each month to provide for special needs in our church family.  You may place your benevolence offering in the designated black offering box on Sunday.

• On Sunday, August 13th MN Adult & Teen Challenge will be leading our worship service and sharing testimonies.  Children will be dismissed for Children's Church toward the beginning of the service as some of the stories may be "raw".
